A Letter from Jason & Yava
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We know that adoption is the path that God has chosen for us. Three years ago, we adopted a beautiful baby girl. She has changed our lives in so many wonderful ways and we are excited to add to our family again! We have a great relationship with our daughter’s birth mother, which includes visits and regular updates. We look forward to sharing our love of sports, adventures and reading with your child!
We met at our friend’s party and after 3 years of friendship, we began to date. We’ve been a team ever since! We’ve been married for five years and have one daughter. Jason is the home improvement guru and the grill master. Yava is the chef/baker and makes our house a home. Jason is looking forward to grilling for his whole family, teaching sports and having fun with our children. Yava is excited to have more little chefs to help her in the kitchen and more little readers to take the library. We love to travel as a family and experience different foods, cultures, and adventures together. We both are looking forward to snorkeling with our children when they are old enough and showering them with love every day.
Jason is the best husband and friend that I could’ve been blessed with. He is a genuinely happy guy and is known as the person with the good times and jokes, but he is serious about taking care of our family and home. He is warm and genuine and always dependable. He is also our travel planner! He makes sure our vacations are mixed with family adventures and relaxation. He is an amazing dad and is excited to share his love with more children. He is really looking forward to coaching baseball/softball and teaching our kids to snowboard!
Yava is loving, kind and caring and brings out the best in me. She loves reading, cooking, trying new recipes and is always finding ways to make her dishes healthy and delicious. She has passed on her love of reading to our daughter and is always looking forward to family trips to the library. I know that Yava is also very excited to have another little helper in the kitchen. She looks forward to teaching our children how to cook and bake delicious cakes. She has proven that she will love our children unconditionally and instill in them compassion, patience the strength to know anything is possible through hard work, determination, and faith.
We have great friends that support us like family. We call them our village because we all work together to make sure our children live their best lives. Our extended families are in different states and we plan trips to visit them often. The grandparents are in love with their adopted grand-baby and are ecstatic to welcome another little one into the family. We believe strongly in providing quality education, experiencing different cultures and living Christ-centered lives as a family. We look forward to instilling these values within our children.
Our “Java Chip”: Aviya Skye
We were incredibly blessed to adopt our daughter, Aviya Skye! She is 3 years old and is so joyful and playful. She loves our pets and is quite the little veterinarian in the making. She also loves to read, sing, dance and play with any toy that makes noise!
We live in a 5 bedroom house with a fenced-in backyard. We often grill in our outdoor kitchen and make s’mores in our fire pit. Our neighborhood has lots of families, a pool and is located in a top school system. We are a short drive to several major cities where we can easily do day trips to museums, events, and cultural activities. We share our home with our cat Sophie and our dog Edge. They are both great with children!
We promise to spend the rest of our lives loving and supporting your child. Our marriage is based on mutual respect, communication, patience, and lots of FUN!! We will instill these values into our children and provide them with quality education and an appreciation for all cultures. We will always speak of you with respect and look forward to sharing this journey with you. We are open to sharing pictures, letters, and visits!

More About Our Family
Our Special Interests
We have a strong marriage that centers around family, Christ, and fun. We love doing things as a family. We travel all across the US and to many countries abroad as a family. Our daughter is only 3 and already has a passport with several stamps on it. We are active in our community and our church. Our daughter was dedicated to the church at about 8 months old and we are looking forward to the day that she is baptized. We also know the importance of fun in a relationship. We love each other and are joyful every day. We go on adventures together, but also have fun just hanging out at our house or playing in the backyard. We believe that it is important for children to see their parents love and respect each other, but also really enjoy being together.
Our faith is a major part of our lives. We are both Christian and are members of a Baptist church. We have been blessed in so many ways and that has allowed and motivated us to be a blessing to others. Yava actively volunteers in our community, mentoring young girls and promoting education. She teaches children's church and is a member of the youth ministry. Jason mentors young men in our community and our families. He is a member of the transportation ministry at our church and drives our church's shuttle.
Our Musical Interests
Jason is the musically talented one in the family. He played the mellophone in his college band and has played the piano since he was a young child. Growing up he played piano for his church and played for our previous church. He loves to listen to hip hop and R&B. Yava also likes hip hop and R&B, but she LOVES the blues. Seeing live blues band is one of her favorite dates with Jason. We also both really enjoy live plays (musical or not). We are excited to take our daughter and future children to plays!
About Our Home and Neighborhood
We live in a beautiful 5 bedroom house. We have a fenced in back yard and are near by parks. Our daughter has her own room and we have a second room for the new baby. Our neighbors are wonderful, always willing to help out and often giving us baked goods! We have several friends nearby, many of whom have children the same age as our daughter or will be expecting soon! Play dates are a lot of fun and a frequent occurrence. The daycare that our daughter attends (and our future children will attend) is top rated and near our home and work.
We have one daughter that we adopted in 2016. She is a joy to us and our families. She is the first grandchild for Jason's parents and Yava's mom (Yava's dad is PawPaw to two wonderful girls). Everyone in our families is excited about welcoming a new baby and is ready to love and spoil them. We have a college fund established for our daughter and will be establishing one for our future children as well. Our daughter attends a weekly children's gym class, swimming (in the summer months or on vacation), and is great traveler! We cannot wait to have more children to enjoy these activities with.
We live in the state of...
We live in Texas. It is the second largest state in the US and has so many different regions just within the state. We can visit beaches and mountains and never leave the state. We are within 2-3 hours of several cities and make short road trips often to see museums, wildlife, plays, eat great food and see friends and family. We are near 3 airports and can fly to most states in the US within 2 hours as well as continue our travels to other countries!
